Anne Kollar
Conductor

Anne Kollar has been the Conductor of the Babylon Chorale since September 2009. She was born and educated in Scotland where she attended the Royal Scottish Academy of Music, and Jordanhill College of Education. She earned her Master's Degree in Instructional Technology at NYIT, where she subsequently taught in the Computers in Education program. She recently retired from the Brentwood School District where she was the High School Choral Director. During her tenure, Brentwood's high school choirs won multiple national awards and accolades, allowing Ms. Kollar to conduct in many prestigious venues, including Carnegie Hall.
Anne is currently an adjunct professor in the music department at Hofstra University, and is the artistic director of Singers of Long Island (SoLI.) She was formerly the conductor of the Long Island Youth Honor Choir and the Long Island Children's Choir, and has been a frequent guest conductor and choral clinician. As an altowith the Stony Brook Camerata Singers she toured Europe and Asia, and recorded two professional CDs. Ms. Kollar is active in several professional organizations: ACDA, Chorus America, MENC, NYSSMA, and SCMEA. She is an All-State vocal and vocal jazz adjudicator, and is the NYSSMA State Chair for Vocal Jazz.



Russell Brand
Accompanist


Russell Brand, accompanist, is a longtime member of The Babylon Chorale, having sung as a bass before becoming our accompanist. He plays both piano and organ. A graduate of Westminster Choir College, Russell has a degree in church music and majored in organ. Currently, he is organist/choir director of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Amityville, and assistant organist at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Lindenhurst. He accompanies the Seaford High School chorus and lends his services to many area churches. Russell teaches piano and organ privately, and accompanied the South Bay Chamber Singers during one of their Canadian tours. He has also accompanied The Babylon Chorale Ensemble at some of their performances.
